Pulp and Paper
The demand for printing and writing applications is generally increasing around the world. Most manufacturers in this market are under pressure to reduce costs and increase product quality at the same time. This concern is one of the main factors driving the demand for cost-effective and environmentally friendly products that are still suitable enough to produce standard products.
Our raw materials listed below can be used to make writing paper, ink, and packaging paper. Paper-making requires large quantities of Calcium Carbonate and a suitable proportion of TiO2 in order to maximize paper's whiteness, opacity, and consistency. During the manufacturing of paper, Hydrated Lime and Kaolin are also considered basic components. TLD Vietnam has abundant experience and knowledge in supplying our paper customers with various grades for the most efficient production.

Pulp
Pulp is a lignocellulosic fibrous material that is prepared by separating cellulose fibers from wood, fiber crops, waste paper, or rags. Mixed with water and other chemical or plant-based additives, pulp is the major raw material used in papermaking and the industrial production of other paper products. Paper pulp is produced using two different methods: the sulfate (kraft) process and the sulfite process. Kraft is the more common and modern process.
Our lime product is an important commodity for the pulp industry. During the sulfate process, quicklime is used as a causticizing agent, and the waste sodium carbonate solution is recovered and reacted with high calcium lime to generate caustic soda for reuse in the process. In sulfite plants, quicklime is used to prepare calcium bisulfite, which is an acid cooking liquor used to digest or dissolve the non-cellulosic constituents of wood chips (paper and pulp stock).
Our high-purity lime products offer a range of benefits for pulp production, including:
- Consistent purity and chemistry.
- Processing and handling of liquids after conditioning.
- Preparation of bleaching agents.
- Readily available in large quantities.

Paper
The paper industry is an irreplaceable industry in this modern world due to the enormous demand for printing and writing.
The use of minerals in papermaking has long been known; kaolin clay and calcium carbonate powder (GCC and PCC) are the main raw materials used as fillers in papermaking. The paper-making environment is usually an acid environment; the calcium carbonate changes into a neutral medium to become an alkaline environment, which is very good for paper production.
Paper is made of two components: coating and filler. Filler is the inner hinge layer, which creates the plate of the paper; coating is the surface layer over the filler. Both components are composed partly of calcium carbonate powder, ranging from 10 to 20%. The coating also needs TiO2 for whiteness.
A high-quality paper is judged on the whiteness, rigidity, and smoothness influenced by the quality of the calcium carbonate powder. We have a source of high-whiteness (minimum 98%) calcium carbonate powder from Yen Bai quarry, which is extremely necessary for paper.
TLD is proud of having a wide range of experience in supplying GCC powder for paper manufacturing businesses around the world. We are supplying GCC, PCC, TiO2, etc. for paper manufacturers.
