Industry
We understand the importance of partnering with a professional supplier to provide products and services in order to achieve more efficient solutions for your production. We provide minerals and chemicals for a wide range of specialist applications across sugar refining, oil drilling, metallurgy, iron and steel, refractories, chemicals, personal care, etc.
With sustainability in mind, we partner with our customers to find the best solution for industry to save money, improve productivity, and reduce negative environmental impacts.

Sugar Refining
Lime is used in sugar production when purifying the juice from beet or cane. Sugar cane and sugar beets are harvested and processed with water to form raw juice, which has a low pH and contains dissolved impurities. Lime, produced from high-calcium limestone, is added to the juice to raise the pH and to react with the impurities to form insoluble calcium organic compounds that can be removed. This process may be repeated several times, depending on the purity of the final product required.
Our quicklime calcium oxide and hydrated lime products are ideal for sugar refining; they provide the chemical consistency and purity required for the rapid reaction and clarification of sugarcane juice. They deliver lots of advantages, such as:
- Ideal quantity of limes used.
- Efficient clarification.
- Minimal impurities.
- Better process reliability.
- Long-term financial savings.

Chemicals
The chemical industry uses limestone-based products in the neutralization and cleaning of processes and wastewaters and as raw materials and fillers in various chemical processes.
Our calcium and magnesium lime-based products and minerals are used as filler components, neutralizing agents, or chemical reagents in the production of many organic and inorganic chemicals. Lime and mineral products have numerous applications in the chemical industry due to their natural properties, consistent quality, and competitive price. They are an ingredient in the manufacture of many of the substances we use every day, such as leather, wine, paint, soap, citric acids, anti-freeze, and more. Our goal is to provide a complete package of materials that contribute significantly to optimizing production and saving costs for customers.

Mining
Lime is an important chemical for regulating various processes in the mining industry. Quicklime and slaked lime, as well as ground limestone, are used both in concentration plants and for metal extraction.
Concentration plants often use lime milk made of quicklime or slaked lime for regulating pH values. Keeping pH values at a required level ensures a high-value yield from the mine. Lime products are also needed for treating unusable or superfluous process water, flood water, or rainwater before returning them to nature. Lime raises the pH value, thus precipitating metals diluted in the water into tailing areas. Limestone is often used in the construction of tailing areas and as a part of the cap after closing the mine. Furthermore, lime is an important product used in underground mining. Lime improves the stabilization of fillers, strengthens filled constructions, and reduces the risk of collapse.
Our versatile range of products being present throughout the process, from below ground through to refining, assures that we bring valued customers an effective solution for raw materials in most of the steps of production.

Iron and Steel
The largest use of lime is in steel manufacturing, where it serves as a flux to remove impurities. Quicklime, both high calcium and dolomitic, enjoys its most extensive use as a flux in purifying steel in the electric arc furnace (EAF) and basic oxygen furnace (BOF). Lime is particularly effective in removing phosphorus, sulfur, silica, and, to a lesser extent, manganese. Lime also has important uses in the secondary refining of steel and in the manufacture of steel products. High-calcium and dolomitic lime used in the steel industry must meet exacting physical and chemical properties.
In TLD Vietnam, our package for iron and steel, consisting of Limestone, Dolomite, Quicklime, and Hydrated Lime, assures to meet most of the various demands of customers with lots of benefits:
- Consistent quality.
- Reasonable price.
- Continuous supply.

Non-Ferrous Metals
Lime is a key component in a number of nonferrous metal applications. Both quicklime and hydrated lime are widely used in the flotation or recovery of many non-ferrous ores, in particular copper ore flotation, in which lime acts as a depressant (settling aid) and maintains proper alkalinity in the flotation circuit. In the recovery of mercury from cinnabar, lime is used to remove sulfur. Lime is also used in the flotation of zinc, nickel, and lead-bearing ores. It is often used as a conserving agent to assist in the recovery of xanthates, another flotation chemical.
Lime is also extensively used in the recovery of gold and silver in the cyanide leaching process to curtail the loss of cyanide, dissolution reagents, and pH control. In addition, lime products are used in effluent and tailings treatment, settling, dewatering, filtration, environmental protection, and mine safety.
We offer a wide range of lime products of appropriate purity and reactivity for process optimization and metal recovery.

Oil Drilling
Oil drilling is a highly specialized business that grew into the largest industry on the planet by the early 21st century. Oil drilling is the process by which tubing is bored through the earth's surface and a well is established. A pump is connected to the tube, and the petroleum under the surface is forcibly removed from underground. While drilling for oil and gas, formations of high pore fluid pressure may be encountered (up to 20 ppg equivalent). Normal drilling fluid can control formation pressure up to 10 to 12 ppg. Therefore, it is necessary to increase mud pressure to correct this imbalance; otherwise, a blowout may occur.
Barite, with its high density, low oil absorption, low hardness, and abundance, makes it an ideal drilling fluid additive and is largely used in oil and gas drilling activities across the globe. Barite is preferred over the other weighting materials for its low price, purity, availability, and non-toxicity.
TLD Vietnam provides Barite Powder in line with the API 13A Section 7 Standard that is approved by the American Institute (API) for use as a weighting agent in oil and gas drilling fluids, with a large reservation available. Our product really gains customer satisfaction through its best quality as well as its competitive price.
